A wet winter may have delayed the state’s fire season, but it could ultimately make the blazes worse.

Yohanes S. Kidane was last seen Aug. 14 entering an Uber vehicle in San Jose, and cell phone, wallet and backpack were recovered near the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center in San Francisco.

The female officer, who has not been identified, was seriously wounded in Wednesday's shooting, when a single bullet struck her in the abdomen below her bulletproof vest, causing serious injury to her intestine, colon, liver and gall bladder, and fracturing her spine, according to District Attorney Jeff Rosen.
