Here are the preliminary results for the California Legislature seats in Santa Clara County – six in the Assembly and one in the Senate

There were no surprises in the Assembly races, since Democrats outnumber all other parties and independents combined in the county. But in the 10th District Senate race, two Democrats, Lily Mei and Aisha Wahab, were in a dead heat with 100% of precincts reporting. Counting of mail-in ballots will decide the Senate seat.

Six candidates are vying for the three open seats on the council.

Measure D, a Gilroy charter amendment, would require the city to formally bid a public project that exceeds $200,000, up from the current $35,000, which was adopted in 1960. 

The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters said Eisenberg had nearly 54 percent of early returns, with Kremen just over 46 percent.

Vote Centers close at 8pm tonight, but it can take a few hours for all vote centers to report results, and weeks before the final totals are known.

Chavez is the architect of many of our city and county’s key policies on crime, homelessness, housing and government accountability. The problem is those policies are failing. They don’t need to be defended; they need to be changed.
