Liccardo’s Political Party; Hennessey Flamed on Facebook

The patio of San Jose’s Mezcal restaurant was chock full of local public officials and other political celebs last Friday evening for Sam Liccardo’s 40th birthday bash/campaign kick-off party. US Rep. Zoe Lofgren, recently named as a possible candidate to replace Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, made a surprise appearance—no word as to whether she ate any of the restaurant’s famous fried grasshoppers.

Owing to the fact that Sam’s birthday is smack in the middle of election season, his shindig attracted many friends who are themselves locked in campaign battles: supes candidate Teresa Alvarado, a Liccardo ally, was in attendance, as was Sam’s controversial new pal, DA contender Jeff Rosen. Of note was Liccardo’s cake, which featured an image of the downtown councilman dressed up as a bright-pink whoopee cushion—a costume he wore for the 2009 Silicon Valley Turkey Trot. He won that race. Of course, he was younger then.

Meanwhile, a Facebook group has been launched to attack Tim Hennessey, the former doorman and security guard challenging for Liccardo’s council seat. The group’s creators appear to come from Hennessey’s primary voter base, the downtown nightclub scene—they occasionally “quote” Hennessey from conversations and quips overheard at local bars. “We are the people who got banned from this guy’s page,” the description states. “We got kicked off for speaking our minds.” They note that they have no affiliation to Liccardo: “We’re just pissed off at Timmmey!”

The group features a photo of the wheelchair-riding, cognitively disabled South Park character who shares Hennessey’s first name, and is no-so-subtly titled: “I Bet This Group Gets More Members Than Tim Hennessey Gets Votes.” For his part, Hennessey’s personal Facebook profile continues to list him as a fan of Sarah Palin and “Anything About Guns.” And his campaign website? That’s still under construction. “Please check back periodically!,” it says, as it has since last summer.

    WHA-A-A-A-T? ! ! !

Has the Fly been nibbling on bad horse manure again?

WHO named Zee-Roe as a possible Supreme??

As a Loaf-Gren constituent, I have NO idea what she has ever done for the district or any of her constituents.

As far as I know, she is the consummate non-entity.  She is the textbook example of Democrat political social promotion on steroids.

The only time I have ever laid eyes on her actual carbon footprint was at the Almaden Community Association meeting where she lamely defended the pending Obama-care legislation.  She had no idea why her constituents vehemently objected to Obama-care, but mindlessly recited Nancy Pelosi’s and David Axelrod’s Obama-care talking points.

The only explanation for this rumor that seems plausible is that someone in the Democrat crime family wants to put her out to pasture, and instead of arranging for her to sleep with the fishes at the bottom of the East River, they can get her out of the way by putting her on the Supreme Court where she will do what Ruth Bader Ginzburg’s law clerks tell her to do.

    • Of course, the truth is that Congresswoman Lofgren’s constituents overwhelmingly support the health care legislation.  Just because there was a vocal group at the town hall meeting opposing it doesn’t mean she was mindlessly not listening to her constituents.  I’m thankful that she held firm on her convictions and the convictions of her district.

      • > Just because there was a vocal group at the town hall meeting opposing it doesn’t mean she was mindlessly not listening to her constituents.

        Translation:

Zee-Roe doesn’t actually need to listen to what her constituents have to say to her.

Like an authentic liberal Democrat, she merely listens to the voices inside of head and imagine that they are her constituents.

    • Try reading a newspaper or other form of information source and you won’t write such ignorant ramblings. Lofgren’s name was being promoted by the high tech community and they are clearly much more aware of her contributions than you are.

      • > Lofgren’s name was being promoted by the high tech community and they are clearly much more aware of her contributions than you are.

And what high tech community would that be?  Would that be the one that USED to do business in the bay area but has since moved to China, India, Korea, and similar places interested in actually fostering profitable businesses? THAT high tech community?

Why would they be promoting Zee-Roe for Supreme Court?  Maybe they were talking about a private tennis club and you just got confused.

    • I wouldn’t worry too much about the Health Care bill.  I’m sure there are at least five Justices on the Supreme Court who will recognize the fact that there exists no Constitutional authority for the Federal government to require every person in the USA to purchase a private health insurance policy.  What dim bulb liberals like Zoe Lofgren (as well as many Bush-Palin neo-“conservatives”) will never understand is that the USA is not a Congressional dictatorship.  She and her pals can’t just pass any law they like; there has to exist some Constitutional basis for any Federal statute.

Wasn’t Liccardo a former infant who puked up his pablum, peed on his nanny, and pooped in his diapers?

Wasn’t he also a former juvenile who picked his nose and wiped the boogers under the folding seats at the CineLux?

Wasn’t Liccardo a former lawyer who hung around with seamy and creepy reptiles like Gray Davis, Barbara Boxer, and scads of corporate white collar criminal suspects?
