The mayor’s newsletter comments came nine days after the shooting, allegedly by a 17-year-old, at Westfield Valley Fair shopping mall that wounded three people.
The Westfield Valley Fair Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in California, reopened today at noon with increased police patrols and assurances that Friday’s shooting was an isolated incident.
Residents of the Loma Verde and Cadillac/Winchester neighborhoods were victims of gang-related violent crimes, including assault with deadly weapons, carjacking and robbery.
