Uatesoni Joseph Paasi, 31, was arrested last month in Mexico and was extradited to the U.S. on Dec. 2 and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on a murder charge.

It’s been a busy – and successful – few weeks for San Jose homicide detectives. In a two-week period from July 30 through Aug. 12, city detectives arrested seven suspects, and cleared four homicide cases.

Danhong Chen and her business partner and ex-spouse, Jianyun Ye, were indicted by a federal grand jury in March 2019 for committing fraud to obtain immigration benefits for foreign investors. Ye pleaded guilty in 2021 and served a year in prison.
