Police Blotter: April 3-5, 2014

The San Jose Police Department blotter for April 3-5 includes a carjacking, gang suppression and a neighborhood meeting. The following information was taken from a report created by SJPD staff:

Date/Time: April 3, 2014—2 to 4pm
Location: Foothill Division
Type of Crime: Gang suppression
Details: Four officers and a sergeant worked gang suppression in the Foothill Division. Officers conducted foot patrol in the Poco Way Apartments. Officers also patrolled the Kolmar area and made numerous vehicle and pedestrian stops. The majority of the evening was spent with high visibility patrols in the Tully/Lanai area in response to the recent homicide. Officers arrested one individual following a vehicle stop in the area of Mckee/Jackson for an outstanding no bail warrant.

Date/Time: April 3, 2014—2 to 6pm

Location: South Bay Yacht Club

Type of Event: Community meeting

Details: Sgt. Marfia attended the Alviso Neighborhood Community meeting. There were 14 persons in attendance and an aide from Councilmember Kansen Chu's office. The entire meeting was devoted to discussion of pending development. There were no public safety or crime concerns voiced by the association before, during, or after the meeting

Date/Time: April 4, 2014—2 to 4:30pm

Location: Foothill Division

Type of Crime: Gang

Details: One sergeant and four officers worked the Foothill area gang cars. Officers concentrated in District Charles due to the recent homicide. Officers conducted several area checks in the hot spots and conducted foot patrol at the Valley Palms Apartments. Officers contacted several subjects and performed street checks on subjects with gang affiliation. There were no gang related incidents during the time the officers were in the area

Date/Time: April 4, 2014—2 to 5:30pm

Location: North 10th and Horning streets

Type of Crime: Carjacking

Details: Officers were alerted to a possible stolen vehicle at the above location. The vehicle was determined to have been the victim vehicle of a carjacking. The vehicle was processed and released to the registered owner. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Date/Time: April 4, 2014—2 to 5pm

Location: 1000 block of Delmas Avenue

Type of Crime: Felony warrant arrest

Details: Officers conducted a joint investigation on information received from CrimeStoppers. Officers conducted surveillance which led to the arrest of a suspect wanted for a felony narcotics warrant
