What’s Cooking, Good Looking?

The June 5 primary slugfest wages on for two more weeks, but that hasn’t stopped some people from putting out feelers for the 2014 election. Pete Furman, chief of staff for San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed, was the first person we heard might be interested in running for the District 3 City Council seat, which will be left vacant by a termed-out Sam Liccardo. Many believe Liccardo plans to continue up the City Hall ladder in a bid for mayor. Furman isn’t alone in weighing a run for the downtown council seat. Leah Toeniskoetter, the highly connected director of SPUR, a nonprofit that focuses on urban development, appears to have an interest as well. Sources also tell us Raul Peralez, a San Jose police officer and volunteer human relations commissioner for County Supervisor George Shirikawa, has started to gauge his chances. Peralez’s LinkedIn profile shows he has a long history of public service, including substitute teaching and serving as a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. This busy schedule, however, hasn’t stopped Peralez from also working part time as a male model—a resume highlight he shares with District 9 Councilmember Don Rocha. Leah! Leah! Leah!

    FORGEDDA BOUT IT!

We don’t need no “highly connected” central planner technocrat.

Quit hanging around with those creepy, academic social theoreticians and get a real job.

Well, . . . perhaps it’s time to let the public know that the community oriented and civic minded Lou Scannon IS something of a HUNK!
